Window fitting, adjustment and servicing
A whistling window usually does not need replacing, it needs adjusting and a new seal. That is a €90 job that pushes window replacement five years down the road.
- Price from
- 90 € per job
- Response time
- Routine work 24–48 hours, emergencies often the same day

What the job includes
- Adjusting windows between winter and summer settings
- Replacing seals and lubricating the hinges
- Fitting internal and external window boards
- Installing new windows with foaming and finishing
- Sealing the internal and external joints
How we do it
We start by checking the sash: most PVC windows have an allen-key pressure adjustment that has never been turned. Setting it to winter takes a minute per window and cuts the draught immediately. The seal gets replaced when the rubber no longer springs back after being pressed.
Good to know
If a window fogs on the inside, the window is not broken — the room is humid and under-ventilated. We say so honestly and suggest looking at the ventilation rather than buying a window.
Frequently asked questions
Can you adjust a window instead of replacing it?
Usually yes. If the frame has warped or the sealed unit is misted, no — we tell you on the spot.
Do you fit window boards?
Yes, internal and external. The internal one goes in with a slight fall into the room so condensation does not run into the wall.
Guides and advice
Finishing window sills and reveals after replacing windows
Once new windows are in, the reveals and sill are usually left rough — here is how to finish them properly.
Checking gutters and window sills before the autumn rains
A short seasonal check on gutters and window sills can save you a much bigger repair once winter sets in.
Condensation and mould around a window: what you can fix yourself
Water on the sill and black spots in the corner of a window are almost always condensation, and often fixable without a tradesman.
