Renewing silicone joints in the bathroom
Black silicone is not dirt, it is mould inside the joint — no cleaner will bring it back. The only fix is cutting the old out and putting new in, which takes an hour.

- 45 € per job
- Response time
- Routine work 24–48 hours, emergencies often the same day

What the job includes
- Removing every trace of the old silicone and cleaning the joint
- Drying and degreasing the surface
- Applying new sanitary silicone with a fungicide
- Tooling the joint smooth and removing the masking
How we do it
The critical part is getting all of the old silicone out — leave a strip behind and the mould grows back through the new bead within three months. We use a scalpel and a silicone remover, not just a knife. The joint is dried properly before the new bead goes on; silicone applied into a damp joint does not bond.
Good to know
If mould keeps returning even after renewal, the problem is not the silicone but the ventilation. We check that and tell you whether the bathroom extract is actually working.
Frequently asked questions
How long before I can use it?
24 hours before showering. Earlier than that, water can lift the bead.
Do you seal windows too?
Yes, including window and external door joints. Outside we use a weatherproof sealant, not sanitary silicone.
