Wallpapering and stripping old paper
Wallpaper forgives an uneven wall better than paint does, but it forgives neither damp nor loose plaster. Preparation decides whether the seams are still closed a year later.

- Finishing around trims and sockets
How we do it
Stripping the old paper is half the job and cannot be skipped: new paper over old pulls the old one loose as it dries and the wall bubbles. In a block we check first whether the external wall runs cold — there the paper may need a breathable paste and insulation, not just a new pattern.
Good to know
A large pattern repeat (over 40 cm) uses noticeably more material. We work out the quantity in advance so you do not end up two rolls short.
Frequently asked questions
How many rolls do I need?
Give us the room dimensions and the pattern repeat — we calculate the quantity and add the waste allowance. Free even if you order the paper yourself.
Do you hang photo murals?
Yes. A mural needs a very flat wall and precise alignment, which is why it is priced slightly higher.
Guides and advice
Tiles, wallpaper or plaster: finishing your kitchen walls
Tiles, wallpaper and plaster each suit a different part of the kitchen, and mixing them is usually the right answer, not a compromise.
Kitchen walls: wallpaper, paint, or a mix of both
Away from the splashback, kitchen walls face less grease but still need a finish that copes with steam and wiping down.
Which wall finish holds up in an entrance hall or corridor
A hallway takes more punishment than any other room, so it needs a finish chosen for wear, not just colour.
