Decking construction and maintenance
A deck that wobbles in spring almost always has a foundation problem. You can replace the boards three times, but if the posts have moved it changes nothing.
- Price from
- 90 € per job
- Response time
- Routine work 24–48 hours, emergencies often the same day

What the job includes
- Building the foundation (posts, blocks or screw piles)
- Framing at the correct centres and fall
- Laying deck boards with even gaps
- Building balustrades and steps
- Removing or restoring an old deck
How we do it
Foundations go below the frost line; on Estonian clay, screw piles are often more sensible than concrete blocks. We leave 5–6 mm between boards so water drains and the timber can move. The fall away from the house is 1–2%, otherwise water collects against the wall.
Good to know
Untreated timber does not last in Estonian weather. On a tight budget, a smaller deck in decent material beats a large one in cheap material.
Frequently asked questions
Timber or composite?
Composite costs more but needs no oiling and lasts longer. Timber is warmer underfoot and cheaper, but wants maintenance every two years.
Does decking need a building permit?
A small ground-level deck usually does not, but a roofed or raised one may need a building notice. We check your municipality's rules.
