Door lock replacement and fitting
After moving in, changing the lock is the first thing to do: you never know how many keys the previous owner had in circulation.
- Price from
- 60 € per job
- Response time
- Routine work 24–48 hours, emergencies often the same day

What the job includes
- Cylinder replacement (the fastest and cheapest option)
- Replacing the whole lock case when the mechanism is worn
- Sorting out handles and hinges
- Adjusting the door when it no longer closes properly
How we do it
In most cases a new cylinder is enough — ten minutes' work and a fraction of the cost of a new lock. We measure the cylinder length exactly: one that protrudes from the door face is a gift to a burglar. After fitting we work the lock ten times from both sides.
Good to know
If the door will not close or the key turns stiffly, the lock is usually not at fault — the door has dropped. We adjust the hinges before suggesting a new lock; it is cheaper and lasts longer.
Frequently asked questions
Can you open the door if the key is lost?
If you own or rent the flat and can show that, yes. It usually means drilling the cylinder out and fitting a new one straight away.
Do you fit code locks?
Yes, mechanical and electronic. With electronic ones we talk through what happens when the battery dies — a good lock still opens with a key.
